Part 6

Something hides in the dark waiting to be

disturbed. Armed with only seaweed armour

and driftwood swords we creep into the mouth

of the cavern. Treading slowly over

rocky floor, slick with algae and worn

down limpet shells. Limewater droplets fall

from above and catch in the gaps of your

mossy amour. Making you shiver and

squeal. Your squalls bounce back at us from a

thousand angles and wake the beast above

us. We’re enveloped, before we can run, by

an ebony cloud of shrill yelps, velvet

and sinew. Everywhere and then gone;

swooping and spiralling across the sky.
